Shamil Erdogan remained unbeaten at ONE Fight Night 48, submitting Paul Elliott with a rear-naked choke at 2:28 of round two at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. The event aired during U.S. primetime on October 2 and took place locally on October 3.
According to ONE Championship’s official result report, Erdogan controlled much of the opening round on the ground. Elliott found success with a right hand early in the second, but Erdogan responded by securing a takedown, taking the back and finishing the choke.
The victory moved Erdogan to 14-0 and earned him a $50,000 performance bonus. It did not award him a championship. ONE noted that the result could strengthen his case for a future opportunity involving the vacant heavyweight MMA title, but no title fight was guaranteed.
